2013 In Pictures

Sun, sea, sand, surf, new friends, old friends, scooter madness, Nasi Campur, Nasi Goreng, Scary Satay ladies, temple babies, cheeky monkeys, beach parties, pool parties, 69 Mart after parties, (semi) skinny dipping, naked backflipping, bumped bums, stitched up heads, reef cuts, wipe outs, Bintang, Kuda Putih, road trips and some amazing memories.  You better bring it 2014, cos 2013 was pretty awesome.

(FYI I was an observer, not participant in the naked backflipping!!)

Girls, Do You Fuel Properly for your Sport?

IMG_3179[1]I don’t know about you, (and I have probably said this before!) but I love food. I’m much more likely to put a few more hours in at the gym than pass on a piece of pie or a glass of wine (That’s a savory pie, usually of the meat and veggie variety….none of this sweet pie rubbish!  :D)

If I’m really honest, I don’t exercise just because I enjoy it, but to balance out my food (and wine) intake and keep me in shape.  Like most of us, I’m a recreational exerciser – I’m definitely not going to be breaking any world records any time soon!  But, for women participating in high level sport with significant training demands, balancing sports nutrition recommendations with body composition goals can be a tricky business. Sunday Sort Out 3

Seriously? It’s Sunday? AGAIN?!

Where on earth did last week go?

It’s been a good week here. Highlights include; Family catch ups on Skype, meeting old friends, impromptu beer drinking (with said friends), thrift shopping at a local market, snorkeling, surfing, swimming and generally lots of outside time.

There were only a couple of hiccups. Namely; Falling flat on my face in front of a whole group of people while out running. Who laughed. And didn’t or help me up. Oh where have all the gentlemen gone?! And a broken Kindle. SOB. I heart my Kindle.
